happy sit skiier

CASS is for anyone who cannot participate in a mainstream ski lesson. Many of our students have physical or cognitive impairments that make it difficult to be part of the traditional ski school.

If you are new to the program, we will speak with you and perhaps meet in person and explore what type of instruction would be best suited to your individual situation. We have a large inventory of specialized equipment to deal with physical impairments of any nature.

To participate as a CASS student you must first join the organization as a member. This is free of charge. The purpose of the membership is to gather information about your so we can make the most of your time as a CASS student.

Returning skiers will be contacted by their instructor to review your goals for the season

STEP 1 – Let us Know you are Interested

You can always just send us an email and we will be happy to help you through the process.

STEP 3 – BCAS (CADS) Membership

You will need to purchase an annual membership from BC Adaptive Snow Sports. It was $53 in 2018. This provides some liability insurance and supports the development of adaptive snow sports both provincially and nationally. You also get discounts when skiing at a number of BC ski hills.

Once you have your BCAS number, please update your Portal Profile.

STEP 4 – Medical Waiver

CASS requires that you complete a medical waiver. Skiing is an outdoor winter activities that involve physical exertion. It is extremely likely you will take a tumble or two. We strongly urge you to consult with your physician before taking part. We ask that your physician complete the form and that you return it to us with their signature.

If you choose not to consult with your physician, you may sign the waiver yourself.

Please upload the signed waiver to your Members Profile in the Portal. Alternatively you can bring it with you to your first lesson. We cannot teach you without the waiver on file.
